Regional Sales Director
Seattle, WA 98101
Looking for Mployment that will Mpower you? I can Mpathize.
Mphasis, an international cloud-management and data-infrastructure firm, is looking to build its presence here in the Pacific Northwest. (And yes, the name is pronounced “ emphasis.” The “ e” isn’ t merely silent – it’ s non-existent!)
The company is looking to hire a Regional Sales Director to promote regional awareness of its cloud and cognitive technologies, which help businesses maximize the informational value of their legacy digital systems.
This is a senior position, one that requires a high degree of technical knowledge, sales acumen, and self-propelled initiative. The role is based in Seattle, but will have primary responsibility for Mphasis sales engagements throughout the Northwest.
As you might expect, the position spans a range of sales disciplines: identifying potential clients; managing prospects from lead to close; explaining product and service capabilities; preparing contracts; and working closely with client teams to ensure successful adoption and long-term customer satisfaction.
In addition, this senior sales role will contribute to market strategies by assessing the regional marketplace and monitoring competitors’ offerings. He or she would also be expected to recommend new products and services by evaluating current product results and identifying unmet customer needs.
For this role, Mphasis seeks a “ senior hunter” with at least a decade’ s experience in new-account sales, with a focus on product-engineering services. The ideal candidate is also a “ results-oriented leader who understands the big picture and can translate it into actionable initiatives within his or her territory,” in the words of the company.
As noted earlier, Mphasis needs a true self-starter in this role, someone who can operate with minimal supervision – and can represent the firm regionwide with a strong executive presence and sound judgment.
If you or someone you know is a true sales leader who isn’ t afraid of a high level of autonomy and accountability, drop me a line – this is a great role for the right person.
PS From PSP: Well, that happened … and by “ that,” I mean possibly the most hyped, most breathlessly watched business story to come out of this part of the world since the Gold Rush. I refer, of course, to the recently concluded Amazon HQ2 sweepstakes, which saw the much-coveted prize go to not one but two places: New York City and the DC suburb of Arlington, Va.
What say you, dear readers, about what this outcome means for Amazon, for Seattle, for the chosen cities, and for the hundreds of not-quite-so-chosen cities that threw their hats (and their billboards, and their potted cactuses, and all manner of other inducements) into the ring?
